President Donald Trump was reportedly unhappy to see his longtime rival, Joe Biden, reemerge on the national stage to criticize him before a large audience Tuesday evening, but only after the previous president began to criticize him.
Biden delivered a keynote address at the National Conference of Advocates, Counselors, and Representatives for the Disabled in Chicago—his first major public appearance since leaving office. During the speech, Biden recalled seeing “colored” children on his school bus in Delaware, then launched into a sharp critique of the Trump administration and Elon Musk’s DOGE team, accusing them of slashing programs under the banner of cutting government waste and fraud.
“Why are they doing this now?” Biden complained as he attacked DOGE. “Well, they’re following that old line from tech startups. The quote is move fast, break things. They’re certainly breaking things.” He added: “It’s devastating for millions of people, and the psychological pressure we put people under by having this debate is absolutely devastating. In 100 days, this new administration has done so much damage & so much destruction.”
Biden suddenly began shouting as he accused Republicans of targeting Social Security benefits, which is a bald-faced lie. “It’s about dignity. Simple dignity! Everyone! Everyone deserves to be treated with dignity… regardless of who they are!” Biden hollered. Trump fired back Wednesday morning on Truth Social with a scathing statement in response to Biden’s remarks. He blasted Biden as “the worst president” in U.S. history and accused him of intentionally allowing millions of illegal immigrants and dangerous drugs to pour across the Southern border.
Trump claimed Biden’s immigration policies have led to the loss of countless American lives and devastated families nationwide. “Sleepy Joe Biden, THE WORST PRESIDENT IN THE HISTORY OF THE UNITED STATES, has allowed millions and millions of Criminals, many of them murderers, drug dealers, and people released from prisons and mental institutions from all around the world, to enter our Country through it’s very dangerous and ill conceived Open Border,” Trump wrote. “Sorry, but it’s my job to get these killers and thugs out of here. THAT’S WHAT I GOT ELECTED TO DO. MAGA!”
