Marjorie Taylor Greene Drops Unexpected Bombshell About Her Future

Posted on April 26, 2025 By Star No Comments on Marjorie Taylor Greene Drops Unexpected Bombshell About Her Future

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, MAGA firebrand and one of President Donald Trump’s most loyal allies in the House, has just dropped a bombshell about her political future. Greene is reportedly weighing a 2026 Senate bid, according to two sources, exploring the possibility of jumping into the race if Gov. Brian Kemp, who is term-limited, opts out. While Kemp would likely clear the field if he runs, one anonymous source told the Daily Caller that Greene believes she would “crush” the GOP primary in his absence.

A Greene candidacy for Sen. Jon Ossoff’s seat would thrust the conservative congresswoman into one of 2026’s most-watched contests. Republicans are determined to unseat Ossoff, whose narrow January 2021 runoff win over former GOP Sen. David Perdue helped cost Republicans their Senate majority. Ossoff is the lone Democratic senator up for reelection in a state Trump carried last November.

Although Kemp is viewed as the marquee GOP challenger, backed by recent polls, the primary remains “frozen” until he decides whether to run, a source told the Daily Caller. That source added Kemp is likely to announce his decision by Memorial Day. Kemp just wrapped up a major legislative battle by signing two tort-reform bills into law on Monday and has been busy supporting GOP governors as chair of the Republican Governors Association. Both the National Republican Senatorial Committee and Senate Majority Leader John Thune have urged Kemp to run.

Without Kemp in the race, Greene would have the clearest path to the GOP nomination, according to a Georgia political insider. Greene now chairs a House oversight panel dedicated to the Department of Government Efficiency’s effort to eliminate waste. She recently hosted a town hall on the edge of her Atlanta-area district—vehemently defending the president’s policies even as protesters disrupted the event.

Other Georgia House Republicans—Reps. Mike Collins, Rich McCormick, and Buddy Carter—are weighing a run if Kemp opts out. But none match Greene’s statewide name recognition, fundraising prowess, or grassroots support, according to a Georgia political insider. Greene would also benefit from her close ties to Trump, who could actively campaign for her in a contested primary.
