Media Whines About ‘Undocumented Grandmother’ Facing Deportation: Here’s The Rest Of the Story

Posted on May 9, 2025 By Star No Comments on Media Whines About ‘Undocumented Grandmother’ Facing Deportation: Here’s The Rest Of the Story

You’d think that our garbage media would have learned their lesson over the “Maryland dad” fiasco, embracing a known gang-banger and member of a designated terrorist organization over American citizens, but you’d be wrong. The media’s latest illegal migrant hero is a California grandmother now facing deportation. But of course, there’s more to the story that most outlets aren’t telling you.

On Thursday, the Los Angeles Times ran a headline suggesting that an “undocumented grandmother” was facing deportation simply for making a “wrong turn.” The framing appeared aimed at portraying ICE as aggressively targeting innocent individuals over minor driving mistakes. To set the misleading tone, here’s the opening line of the article: “A 64-year-old grandmother in the U.S. without documentation is facing deportation after she mistakenly took the wrong exit on her way home from work.”

Pretty horrible of the Trump administration, right? (FACT update: Remember when Barack Obama was called “deporter-in-chief“?) Deporting a harmless grandmother! What an awful thing to do, and for simply ‘making a wrong turn!’ Thank goodness America still has some honest journalists to set the record straight, though. Enter Bill Melugin of Fox News, who updated us with all the relevant facts:

Some context you don’t get in the headline: She had been living in the U.S. illegally for 20 years, has no drivers license (but was still driving), has no identification of any kind, and drove onto a military base where she was stopped and unable to ID herself.

What we actually have here is someone who has been violating U.S. immigration laws for more than 20 years, with no apparent effort to resolve her legal status. On top of that, she was driving without a license—potentially for years—putting others at risk. It’s worth noting that California allows undocumented immigrants to obtain driver’s licenses, raising questions about whether she also failed to secure insurance.

This “undocumented grandmother” then entered a military base—one of the few places in the country where federal authorities are legally permitted to demand identification at any time. When she was unable to produce any ID—again, after decades of ignoring the law—she was detained and handed over to ICE. That paints a very different picture from the Los Angeles Times headline, which framed it as simply “undocumented grandma facing deportation for wrong turn,” doesn’t it?

You can’t hate our left-wing legacy media liars enough.
