GOP Rep. Burchett Kicked By Horse, Suffers A Broken Rib

Posted on July 30, 2025 By Star No Comments on GOP Rep. Burchett Kicked By Horse, Suffers A Broken Rib

Rep. Tim Burchett says it’s going to take more than a broken rib to slow him down.

The Tennessee congressman revealed Tuesday that he was kicked by a horse over the weekend, and one of his ribs didn’t make it out in one piece.

“Since everyone is asking, here’s the deal: On Sunday, I was kicked by a horse,” Burchett posted on social media. “Broke a rib. He didn’t like being bitten by that horsefly, and my rib was collateral damage.”

That didn’t stop him from traveling more than three hours the next day, attending multiple events, and making it back to the farm after 2 a.m. The next morning, he was up by 6 a.m. and back on the road to Campbell County for more events.

“It’s going to take more than a broken rib to slow me down,” Burchett said. “I sincerely appreciate everyone’s concern and prayers for a quick recovery. Pray for our country.”

Burchett also posted several videos from the road, showing him on his feet and talking with constituents.

“Campbell County, it is freaking God’s country, man. It is the best,” he said in one clip. “Food’s great and I was given an update on Congress and it was just wonderful. It’s always good to be home. Reminds you of what’s really important and Washington, D.C. is not what’s important, it’s the people back home.”

It’s not the first time a horse has caused trouble for the Burchett family.

A few years ago, his daughter was injured in a horse-related accident and hospitalized.

“It’s unbelievable just how it all went down. A rope could have wrapped around her neck, could’ve been tragic,” Burchett said at the time. “I told my wife, I said, ‘Baby, count our blessings because she is alive,’ and that’s all we really care about. You know, she’s a tough little girl, she’ll be back on that horse.”

urchett (R-Tenn.) stated last week that he believes a client list tied to Jeffrey Epstein once existed but was “destroyed” by the Biden administration.

“I think the files existed at one time,” Burchett said in an interview on NewsNation’s “On Balance” with host Leland Vittert. “I think they were destroyed in the previous administration.”

A Justice Department memo released earlier that week determined that Epstein never maintained the purported client list used to blackmail prominent individuals, directly contradicting long-standing conspiracy theories. The memo also affirmed that Epstein died by suicide in his New York City jail cell in 2019, rejecting claims that his death was suspicious.

Burchett rejected suggestions from former Trump adviser Elon Musk and other media figures that President Trump’s name appeared on any such list.

“I think if they’d ever had anything on Trump, it would have been out Day 1 under the Biden administration,” the Tennessee Republican said.

“I think there’s some very prominent people. There’s Hollywood people,” he added. “I mean, I think there’s world leaders too. And would it have caused economic disruption around the globe? Maybe. But I don’t really care. I want to bury those dirtbags.”

Asked why Attorney General Pam Bondi wouldn’t come out and just say that the evidence has been destroyed, Burchett responded, “She doesn’t have any proof of it.”

“I’m just telling you what I think. I’ve been around this town enough,” the lawmaker continued. “I think she got over her skis pretty much saying all this stuff, the files are on my desk, I’m going to release it, and then she releases stuff that I knew.”

“I think they all got out there, got a little excited, and I don’t think they exist,” he added, referring to the files.
