Whistleblowers: ‘Nightmare’ Working Conditions Under Jasmine Crockett

Posted on August 19, 2025 By Star No Comments on Whistleblowers: ‘Nightmare’ Working Conditions Under Jasmine Crockett

Trouble continues to mount for embattled “Squad” member Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX), who made headlines last week for ejecting a journalist from her office.

Now, current and former staffers are speaking out, describing Crockett as a toxic and disengaged boss who frequently berates them over the phone from home—where she reportedly spends much of her time instead of reporting to the office. “She is laying around her apartment, won’t come into the office, and is really just indifferent to staff and will scream at them,” a former aide told the New York Post.

“She is never in the office and is very disengaged. She does her bulls— that goes viral, and then freaks out over the most random things,” the former aide said. A source close to Crockett added, “It is widely known that she’s not nice to staff and is just not a really dedicated member focused on constituents.”

“She is focused almost exclusively on being an influencer, not a member of Congress,” said a third person familiar with how Crockett behaves when the cameras are off, calling her “all diva, no wow.” When Rep. Jasmine Crockett does make it to Capitol Hill for a hearing, staffers say she insists on being driven in a high-end rental vehicle—eschewing the more modest cars commonly used by her colleagues.

According to sources, Crockett specifically demands a Cadillac Escalade and waits inside the vehicle until a staffer opens the door for her. “You’re technically allowed to do this but it’s wildly inefficient. Instead of using the scheduler’s car, she rents a car every week in DC,” one source told The Post.

“She expects her staff to drive her around while she’s in the back seat,” they told the outlet, describing it as a “power play” akin to “treating the staffer like an Uber driver.” Crockett, a former criminal defense attorney elected in 2020, rose to prominence through viral videos of combative exchanges with Republicans during congressional hearings—often marked by crude and confrontational language, the outlet noted.
