Giuliani Recovering After ‘Serious’ Vehicle Accident: Reports

Posted on September 1, 2025 By Star No Comments on Giuliani Recovering After ‘Serious’ Vehicle Accident: Reports

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani is reportedly recovering in a hospital after his vehicle was struck by another motorist along a New Hampshire highway on Sunday.

Giuliani, 81, was hospitalized with a fractured vertebra and cuts and bruises to his left arm and lower leg after his rental car was rear-ended, spokesman Michael Ragusa said following the freak accident.

“Mayor Giuliani was flagged down by a woman who was a victim of domestic violence prior to the accident. He rendered assistance and contacted 911, remaining on scene until responding officers arrived to ensure her safety,” said Ragusa, who runs Giuliani’s security detail.

“The accident occurred after he re-entered his vehicle, which was then hit from behind at high speed,” he noted further, adding in a post-accident statement that Giuliani was “recovering tremendously.”

“The mayor is in great spirits. He’s a beast. He survived 9/11,” Ragusa added, per The Post.

Police have identified the driver who struck Giuliani, the UK’s Independent reported.

Lauren Kemp, 19, of Concord, was driving a Honda HR-V on I-93 south in Manchester when she rear-ended a rented Ford Bronco driven by Giuliani spokesman Ted Goodman, New Hampshire State Police said.

The crash sent both vehicles into the median, leaving them “heavily damaged,” police said. Troopers and firefighters already on scene for an unrelated domestic violence call across the interstate witnessed the collision and provided aid, according to The Independent.

“No charges have been filed as police continue to investigate the incident,” the outlet added.

Giuliani’s son Andrew also took to social media to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers following the accident.

“Thank you to all the people that have reached out since learning the news about my Father. Your prayers mean the world,” the younger Giuliani, who heads up the Trump White House’s FIFA World Cup 2026 Task Force. “As a son, I can tell you I’m honored to have a Dad that I can call the toughest SOB I’ve ever seen!”

Conservative podcaster and influencer Benny Johnson added on the X platform: “Please pray for America’s Mayor.”

Giuliani, who served as New York City mayor from 1994 to 2001, later became Donald Trump’s personal attorney during his first term and promoted claims of voter fraud in the 2020 election.

His law license was suspended in New York in June 2021, and by July 2024 he was formally disbarred, permanently losing the ability to practice law in the state.

“In January, Giuliani settled with two Georgia election workers who sued him in 2023 for defamation after he falsely claimed the pair had manipulated 2020 election results. A jury awarded the pair $148 million in damages,” The Independent reported.

Giuliani launched a campaign against Hillary Clinton for a U.S. Senate seat in 2000 but withdrew after being diagnosed with prostate cancer.

He recently listed his Upper East Side co-op for $4.95 million, after narrowly avoiding seizure by the two Georgia election workers, Ruby Freeman and Wandrea “Shaye Moss.”

The lawsuit targeted Trump and his allies, who accused the election workers of helping to steal the election from him.

“Possibly will move for a new trial, certainly will appeal,” Giuliani, a former federal prosecutor, said after the verdict. “The absurdity of the number merely underscores the absurdity of the entire proceeding where I’ve not been allowed to offer one single piece of evidence in defense, of which I have a lot.

“So I am quite confident when this case gets before a fair tribunal, it will be reversed so quickly. That will make your head spin. And the absurd number that just came in will help that, actually,” he added.
