Kirk’s Final Act May Have Saved Lives As Bullet Stopped Inside His Body

Posted on September 23, 2025 By Star No Comments on Kirk’s Final Act May Have Saved Lives As Bullet Stopped Inside His Body

Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk may have saved the lives of others even as he lost his own, according to new details released by his organization.

Kirk, 31, was fatally shot in the neck during a speaking event at Utah Valley University on Sept. 10. But the bullet never exited his body, which doctors say is an extraordinary and rare occurrence for the type of weapon used, The New York Post reported.

Andrew Kolvet, a spokesman for Turning Point, described the event as miraculous. Writing on X, Kolvet explained that the surgeon who attempted to save Kirk’s life told him the bullet should have gone straight through.

“I just spoke with the surgeon who worked on Charlie in the hospital,” Kolvet wrote. “He said the bullet ‘absolutely should have gone through, which is very very normal for a high-powered, high-velocity round.’”

The doctor told him such rounds typically tear through tissue and bone. “I’ve seen wounds from this caliber many times and they always just go through everything. This would have taken a moose or two down, an elk, etc. But it didn’t go through. Charlie’s body stopped it,” Kolvet quoted the surgeon as saying.

Kolvet added that dozens of staff, students, and guests were standing directly behind Kirk when the gunman fired. “It was an absolute miracle that someone else didn’t get killed,” he said the doctor told him.

The coroner later recovered the bullet lodged just beneath Kirk’s skin. “Even in death, Charlie managed to save the lives of those around him. Remarkable. Miraculous,” Kolvet wrote.

Kirk’s widow, Erika, has also spoken about the aftermath. She said law enforcement officials urged her not to see her husband’s body because of the severity of the damage to his neck. She told the New York Times she was informed the bullet — fired from a vintage German-made Mauser rifle — had completely ravaged him.

Kolvet said the surgeon was astonished by the density of Kirk’s bone and compared it to steel. “His bone was so healthy and the density was so so impressive that he’s like the man of steel. It should have just gone through and through. It likely would have killed those standing behind him too.”

Authorities have charged 22-year-old Tyler Robinson with aggravated murder in the case. He remains held in a Utah jail without bail. Prosecutors have indicated they may seek the death penalty.

The shooting shocked conservatives nationwide, and memorials quickly formed. Several hundred thousand mourners gathered Sunday in Glendale, Arizona, to honor Kirk’s life.

President Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and numerous senior administration officials attended the event. Trump praised Kirk as a fighter for freedom who inspired millions.

Kolvet said Kirk’s final moments revealed both his humanity and his strength. “Even in the way he died, he protected others. That’s who Charlie was. Always standing in the gap, even when it cost him everything.”

FBI Director Kash Patel has provided an update on the investigation of Charlie Kirk’s assassination, saying the FBI is “pursuing every lead.”

Tyler Robinson, 22, was arrested and charged with Kirk’s murder, but Patel said the FBI is looking into the “possibility of accomplices.”

“We are meticulously investigating theories and questions, including the location from where the shot was taken, the possibility of accomplices, the text message confession and related conversations, Discord chats, the angle of the shot and bullet impact, how the weapon was transported, hand gestures observed as potential ‘signals’ near Charlie at the time of his assassination, and visitors to the alleged shooter’s residence in the hours and days leading up to September 10, 2025,” Patel said in a post on X.

Patel added, “The entire FBI mourns the loss of Charlie Kirk. We will not rest until justice is served, and our investigation into this assassination will continue until every question is answered.”
