Trump Points to “Sabotage” After UN Speech Glitches
Former President Donald Trump is once again making headlines, this time over a string of technical mishaps during his UN General Assembly appearance in New York City. From a frozen escalator to teleprompter troubles and audio glitches, Trump suggested the chaos was no accident — calling it a case of “triple sabotage.”
The awkward moment began when Trump and former First Lady Melania were left stranded mid-escalator, forced to walk after it suddenly stalled. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt hinted the issue might have been deliberate, citing a report from The Times of London that claimed UN staff joked about cutting escalator power.
UN officials quickly pushed back. Spokesperson Stephane Dujarric explained the stoppage was triggered by a safety mechanism, not sabotage. As for the faulty teleprompter, he noted that its operation was handled by the White House itself.
Trump, however, wasn’t convinced. On Truth Social, he doubled down, writing: “This wasn’t a coincidence… the people that did it should be arrested!” He confirmed the Secret Service is now looking into the matter.
Online reaction was instant and divided. Some mocked the situation as “first world problems,” while others accused Trump of overreacting. Still, his supporters rallied behind him, insisting the glitches were suspicious.
