The group initially went by the name The Diamonds before Maurice renamed them Maurice Williams and the Zodiacs in 1959.

In 1960, Maurice Williams and the Zodiacs released their doo-wop classic, “Stay In.” This song skyrocketed to the top of the Billboard singles chart, captivating listeners with its unique charm. “Stay” holds the distinction of being the shortest-ever No. 1 song.
