In the mid-1990s, Shelley made the big move to Hollywood, California, marking the beginning of her successful acting career. Alongside acting, she also operated her own production company, Think Entertainment, which produced innovative children’s programming for cable television. Her work with the company earned her two Emmy Award nominations.

Shelley’s incredible acting skills were highly regarded and rewarded throughout her career. In 1977, she won the Best Actress award at the Cannes Film Festival for her performance in “3 Women.” The same year, she also received the LAFCA Award for Best Actress. Additionally, in 1984, she was honored with a Peabody Award for her TV show “Faerie Tale Theatre.”

In terms of her personal life, Shelley was married to artist Bernard Sampson from 1970 to 1974. They tied the knot during the filming of “Brewster McCloud,” but their relationship ended shortly after moving to Los Angeles. In 1989, she found love again with Dan Gilroy, with whom she remained until her passing.

Shelley Duvall will be remembered not only for her immense talent but also for her bravery, resilience, and kindness. She has left an indelible mark on the world of cinema, and her legacy will live on in the hearts of her fans forever.
