Trump Says Haley, Pompeo Not ‘Invited’ To Be In New Administration

Posted on November 10, 2024 By Star No Comments on Trump Says Haley, Pompeo Not ‘Invited’ To Be In New Administration

President-elect Donald Trump announced over the weekend that two Republican stalwarts who endorsed him—Nikki Haley and Mike Pompeo—won’t be “invited” to serve in his next administration.

“I will not be inviting former Ambassador Nikki Haley, or former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, to join the Trump Administration, which is currently in formation,” the president-elect posted on Truth Social early Saturday evening.

That said, he also wrote that he “very much enjoyed and appreciated working with them previously, and would like to thank them for their service to our Country.” He added: “MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

Haley served as UN ambassador during Trump’s first term. She also ran against him for the GOP nomination last year and has been alternately praising and critical of him. Last week, she wrote a Wall Street Journal op-ed in support of his presidential campaign.

“I don’t agree with Mr. Trump 100% of the time,” Haley wrote. “But I do agree with him most of the time, and I disagree with Ms. Harris nearly all the time. That makes this an easy call.”

While not one of Trump’s most vocal supporters, Pompeo, who served as Trump’s secretary of state, has expressed his support for the president-elect in the past. In an open letter with more than 400 signatories, including Gold Star families and national security officials, Pompeo endorsed Trump for president.

“From a world at peace under President Trump, we are closer to a third world war than ever before under the Biden-Harris Administration,” the letter, which was written in October, stated. “With multiple escalating wars around the world, an open border that allows terrorists to flood into the American homeland, and malign actors like China operating unabated, U.S. national security has been profoundly damaged by the failed policies of Kamala Harris and Joe Biden.”

Meanwhile, Susie Wiles, who was co-chair of Trump’s campaign in 2024, was named by the president-elect to be his chief of staff on Thursday.

Wiles used to work for Trump’s Save America super PAC and was a point person for the President’s campaign in Florida during his winning 2016 campaign.

“Susie Wiles just helped me achieve one of the greatest political victories in American history, and was an integral part of both my 2016 and 2020 successful campaigns,” Trump said in a statement.

“Susie is tough, smart, innovative, and is universally admired and respected. Susie will continue to work tirelessly to Make America Great Again. It is a well deserved honor to have Susie as the first-ever female Chief of Staff in United States history. I have no doubt that she will make our country proud,” Trump added.

Several world leaders contacted President-elect Donald Trump on Wednesday to congratulate him on his history-making comeback and victory over Vice President Kamala Harris.

“Dear Donald and Melania Trump, Congratulations on history’s greatest comeback!” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wrote on the X platform.

“Your historic return to the White House offers a new beginning for America and a powerful recommitment to the great alliance between Israel and America. This is a huge victory!” he added with a photo of himself, wife Sara, and Trump.

In Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who had his own contentious involvement in the U.S. election campaign, expressed a tone of hopeful unity regarding Trump’s potential assistance in addressing the Russian invasion of his country.

According to Fox News, other leaders congratulating Trump included El Salvador President Nayib Armando Bukele Ortez, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
