BREAKING: Pennsylvania Man Arrested After Threats To Trump

Posted on April 11, 2025 By Star No Comments on BREAKING: Pennsylvania Man Arrested After Threats To Trump

A 32-year-old man from Butler, Pennsylvania, has been arrested and charged by federal authorities for allegedly making a series of online threats to assassinate President Donald J. Trump and other U.S. officials. The suspect, identified as Shawn Monper, was taken into custody by the FBI and Butler Township Police after investigators linked multiple violent messages posted on YouTube under the username “Mr Satan.”

According to a federal criminal complaint, Monper made threats over several months against the former president, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents, and other government officials. This case is especially concerning because Butler, PA, is the same town where Trump was nearly assassinated during a rally in 2024. In a statement from the Department of Justice, Monper has been officially charged with “making threats to assault and murder President Donald J. Trump, other U.S. officials, and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents.”

Attorney General Pamela Bondi praised law enforcement for taking action quickly. “I want to applaud the outstanding and courageous investigative work of the FBI and the Butler Township Police Department, who thankfully identified and apprehended this individual before he could carry out his threats against President Trump’s life and the lives of other innocent Americans,” Bondi said.

“Rest assured that whenever and wherever threats of assassination or mass violence occur, this Department of Justice will find, arrest, and prosecute the suspect to the fullest extent of the law and seek the maximum appropriate punishment.” Acting U.S. Attorney Troy Rivetti for the Western District of Pennsylvania joined Bondi to announce the arrest.

According to the complaint, between January 15 and April 5, Monper used the “Mr Satan” account to post a series of violent and threatening messages. On April 8, the FBI’s National Threat Operations Section (NTOS) received an emergency disclosure regarding the YouTube threats, which enabled agents to trace the activity to Monper’s IP address and pinpoint his location.

In February, Monper reportedly posted: “I have bought several guns and been stocking up on ammo since Trump got in office.” A month later, he added: “Eventually im going to do a mass shooting,” and “I have been buying 1 gun a month since the election, body armor, and ammo.” The complaint cited specific examples of threats, including one on February 17, 2025, stating: “Nah, we just need to start killing people, Trump, Elon, all the heads of agencies Trump appointed, and anyone who stands in the way… American Revolution 2.0.”

On March 4, during Trump’s live-streamed address to Congress, Monper wrote, “I’m going to assassinate him myself,” referring to the president. He later issued additional threats against ICE agents throughout March and April. Monper was arrested on April 9 and ordered held in custody the following day. A preliminary and detention hearing is set for April 14 at 1:00 p.m. Assistant U.S. Attorney Brendan J. McKenna is prosecuting the case, with the FBI and Butler Township Police Department leading the ongoing investigation, the Justice Dept. said.
