Congresswoman Nancy Mace (R-SC) revealed on social media Saturday that she was confronted by a man inside a makeup store, describing the encounter as a politically motivated incident. “Some unhinged lunatic, a man, wearing daisy dukes, at a makeup store, got in my face today. Dems are nuts. So I went off — and I won’t be backing down,” Mace posted on X. “I hold the line 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Try me.”
The video—shared in Mace’s post and now circulating widely—shows a man approaching the congresswoman and pressing her about her schedule for town hall meetings. The encounter quickly escalated into a heated verbal exchange. The man, whose identity has not been publicly disclosed, repeatedly questioned whether Mace intended to hold additional town halls this year. Mace responded by noting she had hosted more than a dozen in previous years and accused him of harassment. The confrontation grew increasingly intense, with both parties raising their voices and exchanging profanity.
