Hell Has Frozen: CNN Actually Hands Schumer His Rear End After He Attacks Trump

Posted on May 2, 2025 By Star No Comments on Hell Has Frozen: CNN Actually Hands Schumer His Rear End After He Attacks Trump

It’s not often that CNN takes aim at a Democrat, especially one as long-serving and high-ranking as Chuck Schumer, but that’s what happened on Thursday after the Senate Minority Leader ripped President Donald Trump — again — during his 100-day mark.

Schumer (D?NY) criticized Trump’s first 100 days—despite Democrats falling far short of his accomplishments. Trump demonstrated that securing the border didn’t require new legislation, only a president willing to enforce the law. The New York Democrat then tried to highlight Trump’s alleged low favorability at the 100?day mark, calling him the least popular president at that point — which comes from a CNN poll that is an outlier, by the way. But when the network’s congressional correspondent Manu Raju pressed him with a counter statistic, Schumer was left visibly embarrassed.

“There was a poll out today that has your approval rating lower than any other congressional leader, at 17 percent,” Raju stated. “Are you concerned that you may be a liability for your party?” he inquired. And again, that’s a stunning question coming from CNN, but it’s precisely the kind of question they should be asking Democrats like they ask Republicans. Then, as if on cue, Schumer brushed off the very polls he’d cited: “Polls come and go,” he declared. When the numbers reflect poorly on him, they “mean nothing”—but woe to Trump if they dip. That’s the Democratic playbook: never consistent, always hypocritical.

“Our party is united! We’re on our front foot! We’re stepping forward, going after Trump, having real success,” Schumer ranted. But of course, he didn’t want to discuss recent polling data on his own party, showing that it’s in the upper 20s in terms of approval. Notice too, all that matters to Schumer and his Potty Mouth Party is “going after Trump” — not doing what’s best for their constituents and the country, even if it means, God forbid, working with the president to do good things.

I don’t always trust polls on Trump, especially given the relentless negative media coverage he endures. But even if you take the numbers at face value, the RealClearPolitics average puts his approval at 45.2%. Rasmussen—often among the most accurate—had him at 50% as of Thursday. By contrast, Schumer’s approval sits at a dismal 17%, and Democrats in Congress are stuck in the 20s—CNN currently has them at 38%.
