Trump Names Fox Host Jeanine Pirro For TOP DC Position: UPDATE

Posted on May 8, 2025 By Star No Comments on Trump Names Fox Host Jeanine Pirro For TOP DC Position: UPDATE

President Trump is said to be considering yet another Fox News personality for a key role in Washington, D.C., and one that would be of great assistance to the administration in federal courts. According to sources who spoke with ABC News, Trump may be looking at naming Jeanine Pirro to the interim U.S. Attorney for the D.C. District after pulling current acting U.S. Attorney Ed Martin from consideration after RINOs in the Senate promised to tank his nomination.

An official announcement could come within hours, though sources told ABC News that no final decision will be made until President Trump gives his approval. Jeanine Pirro, a former Westchester County district attorney and longtime Fox News personality, is known for her tough-on-crime rhetoric and staunch support of Trump’s America First agenda. Her possible nomination to this high-profile legal position is already drawing attention, particularly given the strategic significance of the U.S. attorney’s office in Washington, D.C., which oversees numerous politically sensitive and federal cases.

UPDATE: Trump announced he was naming Pirro to the post in a Thursday evening Truth Social Post.

Trump’s consideration of a trusted media ally for such a pivotal role aligns with his well-known governing style. If confirmed, Pirro would bring not only prosecutorial credentials but also a combative public profile that has energized the conservative base for years.

The position of U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia is among the most closely watched in the nation, particularly in an election year. With President Trump vowing to restore law and order, Jeanine Pirro could soon find herself at the center of that effort.

A high-profile television personality, legal analyst, author, and former judge and prosecutor, Pirro has spent decades at the intersection of law, media, and politics. Born in Elmira, New York, she launched her legal career in 1975 as an Assistant District Attorney, where she earned national recognition for creating one of the country’s first domestic violence prosecution units.

In 1990, Pirro broke new ground as the first woman elected judge of the Westchester County Court and later made history again by becoming the county’s first female District Attorney, serving from 1993 to 2005. Her political aspirations extended to a 2006 U.S. Senate bid against Hillary Clinton, though she ultimately withdrew and entered the race for New York Attorney General instead, losing to Democrat Andrew Cuomo. After her career in public office, Pirro shifted to television, where she became a prominent media figure.

Should Trump name her to replace Martin, it’s certain no Democrat will support her confirmation, so the question will become — again — which squishy RINOs will join them or do the right thing and support the president’s choice.
