In news that will rock the Democrat Party, a series of new surveys shows that President Donald Trump’s approval ratings are equal to those of former President Barack Obama when he began his second stint in the White House.
The three surveys show that President Trump has a higher approval rating than he had at the end of his first term, The Washington Examiner reported.
And the polls showed that his policies are faring even better.
“His policies are more popular than he is,” Rasmussen Reports reporter Mark Mitchell said.
“I think he’s got room to grow it,” Harvard Caps-Harris Poll chief, Mark Penn, said.
A new Big Data Poll said that the president’s approval rating is 48 percent, with his favorability at 51 percent.
The poll also suggested that the president is getting into a groove, even though his approval rating has fallen from the record 55 percent he had at the start of his second term, but is in a position to grow.
“If these economic concerns turn out to be unjustified, we should all expect the president’s numbers to rebound, perhaps sharply,” Rich Baris, the director of the poll, said.
“Some IMPORTANT observations…,” Mitchell said in a post on X. “These MSM pollsters definitely dumped extra-hostile polls last week > Even before that they were about 3-7 points left of us > We put out more polls BY FAR than all of those names > Look at that cluster at the end there – Definitely an op!” he said in the caption of a chart he shared on X.
When Penn appeared on Maria Bartiromo’s Fox Business show “Mornings with Maria,” he said that the people surveyed found the president’s policies even more popular than Trump himself.
“If I say, ‘Do you approve of what the president is doing on immigration,’ 51% say ‘Yes.’ But when I say, ‘Do you favor or oppose some of the policies that he’s implementing,’ close to 70% say ‘Yes,’” the pollster said.
“So when his name is in there, I get a more partisan response. To me, that indicates that if he’s successful with his policies, he can chip away at that partisanship and get from 50 to 55, or 60, which is where you want to get to,” he said.
In April, Trump’s approval rating rose to near-record levels, despite several days of outrage from Democrats, establishment Republicans, and mainstream media outlets over the president’s ambitious trade changes.
According to the poll conducted by J.L. Partners in collaboration with the Daily Mail, which surveyed 1,000 registered voters from March 31 to April 3, Trump’s support rating increased even after sweeping tariffs were imposed on dozens of trading partners on April 2.
The study indicated that Trump’s approval rating increased to 53 percent, a four-point improvement from a poll a week prior, when it was 49 percent. The Daily Mail termed the outcome as “surprising” considering the intense pressure and stock market crash that occurred that week.
Breaking down the numbers further, Trump’s favorability rating among voters aged 18 to 29 improved by an amazing 13 points from a poll on March 7. The study implies Trump is building on the tremendous support he earned from the group in the November presidential election, when voters aged 18 to 29 switched 10 points in Trump’s favor after heavily supporting Joe Biden in 2020.
The president’s support rating increased by six percentage points among registered Democrats and independents, according to the study. The president’s favorability among black voters increased by 17 points since the previous survey.
“I would give President Trump, right now, a pretty solid B+,” FIG Strategy & Consulting founder, author and Freedom Economy Index (FEI) respondent TaChelle Lawson told Fox News Digital.
“He came in with a very clear plan, and that was focusing on economics. He’s definitely putting business first, trimming the fat. That’s something that small business owners, business operators understand and respect. I think that it’s clear that his focus is on American business,” she added. “I do, however, think that the messaging could use a little bit of work.”
