Bongino Issues Ominous Warning About ‘Corrupt Politicians’

FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino appeared on Hannity Wednesday night, delivering a strong warning to New York Attorney General Letitia James and what he referred to as other “corrupt politicians.”

During the interview, host Sean Hannity pressed Bongino on whether any investigations were underway to determine if James or others had destroyed evidence, and whether they would ultimately be held accountable for their actions. Bongino began his response by noting that there are established methods for determining whether evidence has been destroyed. However, he declined to comment specifically on the case involving Letitia James, stating that he did not want to get ahead of the Justice Department’s investigation.

“I don’t want to comment on that specific case right now for a reason. I don’t want to get ahead of the Department of Justice on that, but I want to say that as you know the FBI obviously has the public corruption portfolio … Yes, if you are a corrupt politician out there, if you are engaged in behavior, you know what you’re doing. We’re going to find it. I promise no one is going to get off,” the deputy director said.

Later in the program, the discussion shifted to the emerging threats and dangers facing the nation as technology continues to evolve, presenting new challenges for law enforcement in their efforts to prevent terrorism.

“The threat picture now for the United States is dramatic,” Bongino said to the host, according to The Hill. “When you get the president’s daily brief every morning like the director and I do for this … you go out of there [and] your blood pressure is through the roof. It’s so many different things.”

Bongino highlighted his main concerns, which include threats from drones, artificial intelligence, China, and the infiltration of foreign actors in our country. “People say, ‘Well, what keeps you up at night?’” Bongino explained. “Well, the answer is, I’d never sleep if I thought about this stuff all the time, but it all keeps me up at night.”

The deputy director and former Fox News commentator revealed he is working closely with FBI Director Kash Patel to build greater trust in federal law enforcement by implementing reforms. “Without reform, we’re not going to have anything, because the American people won’t trust us,” he stated.

He went on to mention that earlier that day, he had spoken to a group of graduates at the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia, where he emphasized the growing threats the nation now faces. “I said, ‘There’s no one coming to save us — the Marvel Avengers ain’t coming,’” Bongino recounted during the segment. “It is us.”
