Washington, D.C. – In a shocking turn of events, President Donald Trump was shot again in what appears to be a targeted attack as he exited the White House just 30 minutes ago.

The incident, which has sent shockwaves through the nation’s capital and beyond, occurred at approximately 11:55 PM WAT on April 17, 2025.

President Trump was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where he is currently receiving urgent medical attention. His condition remains unknown at this time.

According to eyewitnesses and preliminary reports from law enforcement, the shooting took place as President Trump was leaving the White House, reportedly heading to a late-night engagement.

A lone gunman, whose identity has not yet been disclosed, opened fire from a vantage point near the White House perimeter.

Secret Service agents swiftly engaged the shooter, neutralizing the threat within moments. The suspect is believed to be deceased, though officials have not yet confirmed this.

“We heard a series of loud pops, and then chaos erupted,” said one bystander, who was near the White House at the time of the incident.

“Secret Service agents tackled the president to the ground and rushed him into a vehicle. There was blood, but I couldn’t tell where he was hit.”

The Secret Service issued a brief statement confirming the incident: “At approximately 11:55 PM, an armed individual fired shots at President Donald Trump as he exited the White House.

The suspect was neutralized by Secret Service personnel, and the president was immediately transported to a medical facility for evaluation and treatment. The incident is under investigation by federal authorities.”

This marks the second time President Trump has been targeted in an assassination attempt, following a harrowing incident on July 13, 2024, when he was shot in the ear during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

That attack, carried out by 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, left one spectator dead and two others critically injured.

The recurrence of such violence against a sitting president has reignited concerns about political polarization and the rising tide of political violence in the United States.

President Trump’s medical condition remains unclear, with conflicting reports emerging from sources close to the administration. Some claim the president was struck in the shoulder, while others suggest a more serious injury.

The White House has not yet released an official statement, and Vice President JD Vance is reportedly en route to Washington to coordinate with senior officials.

The FBI, in collaboration with the Metropolitan Police Department, has cordoned off the area surrounding the White House as they investigate the motive behind the attack.

Early speculation suggests the shooting may be politically motivated, though authorities have urged the public to refrain from jumping to conclusions until more details are available.

World leaders have begun to react to the news, with several expressing shock and condemning the act of violence. UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer posted on X: “I am appalled by this attack on President Trump.

Political violence has no place in our world, and my thoughts are with him and his family.” Similar sentiments were echoed by leaders across Europe and Asia.

This latest incident comes at a time of heightened tension in the United States, with President Trump’s second term marked by polarizing policies and a deeply divided electorate.

The attack is likely to intensify debates over gun control, Secret Service protocols, and the safety of public officials.

As the nation awaits updates on President Trump’s condition, security has been tightened across Washington, D.C., and other major cities.

The Department of Homeland Security has raised the national threat level, and federal agencies are on high alert for potential copycat attacks or civil unrest.

The White House is expected to provide further updates in the coming hours. For now, the country holds its breath, grappling with the implications of yet another attempt on the life of a president.
