Elon Musk Vows To Create New Political Party If BBB Is Passed

Posted on July 1, 2025 By Star No Comments on Elon Musk Vows To Create New Political Party If BBB Is Passed

Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, is advocating for the creation of a new political party in response to Republicans’ refusal to halt President Donald Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill.”

“It is obvious with the insane spending of this bill, which increases the debt ceiling by a record FIVE TRILLION DOLLARS that we live in a one-party country – the PORKY PIG PARTY!! Time for a new political party that actually cares about the people,” he said on X, a platform he owns.

While Musk frequently expresses his opinions, his anti-Republican rhetoric has significantly intensified in recent days. On Monday, he suggested that if the Republican bill passed, he would swiftly form a new “America Party,” The New York Times reported.

“If this insane spending bill passes, the America Party will be formed the next day,” he wrote in one of several Monday posts to his 220 million followers on X. “Our country needs an alternative to the Democrat-Republican uniparty so that the people actually have a VOICE.”

Later that evening, Musk moved from talking to taking sides. He threw his support behind Representative Thomas Massie of Kentucky, one of the loudest voices against Trump’s bill. While a few Republicans have expressed concerns about the legislation, nearly all G.O.P. lawmakers are supporting some version of it.

Musk then escalated the situation.

At one point, he wrote that nearly the entire House and Senate Republican delegation “will lose their primary next year if it is the last thing I do on this Earth.” That’s no small threat coming from the world’s richest man, who gave close to $300 million to Republican candidates during the 2024 election.

He also named names.

Musk specifically called out Representatives Andy Harris of Maryland and Chip Roy of Texas, both members of the House Freedom Caucus, criticizing them for posturing as budget hawks while supporting the bill. He also clashed with Senator Markwayne Mullin of Oklahoma in a series of sharp posts.

As Musk took aim at the bill and those backing it, President Trump hit back with a warning that could hit Musk where it hurts.

“Elon may get more subsidy than any human being in history, by far, and without subsidies, Elon would probably have to close up shop and head back home to South Africa,” Trump wrote on social media early Tuesday. “No more Rocket launches, Satellites, or Electric Car Production, and our Country would save a FORTUNE.”

“Perhaps we should have DOGE take a good, hard, look at this?” he added, referring to the Department of Government Efficiency, a group Musk formed with the blessing of the president.

Musk’s ties to the Republican Party have always been shaky. He spent years as a Democrat before announcing a shift in 2022. His donations to Republican causes didn’t pick up until just before the 2024 election. And after a heated public spat with Trump in early June, Musk’s talk of starting something new became more serious.

During that feud, he posted a poll on X asking, “Is it time to create a new political party in America that represents the 80% in the middle?”

Establishing a viable third party is a challenging endeavor, and thus far, there are no indications that Musk is initiating the necessary preparations. No staff, no filing, no movement — just talk.

That talk stands in contrast to what he was saying just weeks ago. Five weeks back, Musk said he planned to spend “a lot less” on the 2026 election cycle.

Now, it appears that Musk has abandoned that promise. And Musk seems ready for war.
