Coca-Cola verifies a new recipe in response to Donald Trump’s unexpected statement about changing it

Coca-Cola Confirms New Recipe After Trump’s Shocking Claim
The Coca-Cola Company has announced a new recipe following former President Donald Trump’s surprising claim that he was changing it. This new version will launch alongside the traditional beverage already on shelves across the U.S.

New Cane Sugar Version to Join Product Range
In a recent news release, Coca-Cola said, “As part of its ongoing innovation agenda, this fall in the United States, the company plans to launch an offering made with U.S. cane sugar to expand its Trademark Coca-Cola product range.”

Unlike the current U.S. version, which typically uses corn syrup, this new formula will use real cane sugar—commonly found in Mexican and many European recipes.

Trump’s Enthusiasm for Coca-Cola Sparks Buzz
Donald Trump, a well-known Diet Coke fan, took to Truth Social to discuss the change. He posted, “I have been speaking to Coca-Cola about using REAL Cane Sugar in Coke in the United States, and they have agreed to do so.”

He added, “I’d like to thank all of those in authority at Coca-Cola. This will be a very good move by them—You’ll see. It’s just better!”

Coca-Cola Responds with Cautious Optimism
Coca-Cola promptly replied to Trump’s comments, telling People magazine, “We appreciate President Trump’s enthusiasm for our iconic Coca-Cola brand. More details on new innovative offerings within our Coca-Cola product range will be shared soon.”

Industry Insight: Supply Chain Challenges Ahead
NBC News reports that the U.S. version of Coke usually contains high fructose corn syrup, while cane sugar is used elsewhere. Switching to cane sugar would require significant changes in supply chains.

Ron Sterk, senior editor at SOSland Publishing, explained to Reuters, “Food and beverage industries started using corn syrup in the U.S. because it is cheaper than sugar. The beverage industry commonly uses 55 percent high fructose corn syrup.”

CEO Highlights Sugar Reduction Strategy
Earlier this year, Coca-Cola CEO James Quincey addressed investors, emphasizing the company’s ongoing efforts to reduce sugar in its beverages. He said, “We have made progress by changing recipes and using our global marketing and distribution networks to boost awareness of our expanding portfolio.”
