President Donald Trump was forced to cut his remarks short after a sudden medical emergency involving Dr. Mehmet Oz’s child.
Dr. Oz, who had just been sworn in as head of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, was present at the event.
The live broadcast ended abruptly as White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters to leave the room immediately. According to FOX News, one of Dr. Oz’s children experienced a medical issue and had to be escorted out of the Oval Office.
Dr. Oz’s wife, Lisa, appeared visibly distressed, prompting Trump to briefly step away from the podium, and Dr. Oz rushed to assist.
Footage later showed a young girl being helped from the room. The White House has not yet released an official statement
