‘It’s Time’: Melania Trump Pens ‘Peace Letter’ to Putin

Posted on August 17, 2025 By Star No Comments on ‘It’s Time’: Melania Trump Pens ‘Peace Letter’ to Putin

First Lady Melania Trump penned a “peace letter” to Russian President Vladimir Putin, urging that “it is time” to safeguard children and future generations worldwide.

According to Fox News Digital, which exclusively obtained the letter, President Trump personally delivered it to Putin ahead of their summit in Alaska. Putin immediately read the letter in front of the American and Russian delegations, Fox added.

“Dear President Putin,” the first lady’s letter begins. “Every child shares the same quiet dreams in their heart, whether born randomly into a nation’s rustic countryside or a magnificent city-center. They dream of love, possibility, and safety from danger.”

“As parents, it is our duty to nurture the next generation’s hope,” the letter continued. “As leaders, the responsibility to sustain our children extends beyond the comfort of a few.”

“Undeniably, we must strive to paint a dignity-filled world for all—so that every soul may wake to peace, and so that the future itself is perfectly guarded,” said the letter. “A simple yet profound concept, Mr. Putin, as I am sure you agree, is that each generation’s descendants begin their lives with a purity—an innocence which stands above geography, government, and ideology.”

The first lady went on, writing that “in today’s world, some children are forced to carry a quiet laughter, untouched by the darkness around them—a silent defiance against the forces that can potentially claim their future.”

“Mr. Putin, you can singlehandedly restore their melodic laughter,” Melania wrote. “In protecting the innocence of these children, you will do more than serve Russia alone—you serve humanity itself.”

“Such a bold idea transcends all human division, and you, Mr. Putin, are fit to implement this vision with a stroke of the pen today,” she said, adding: “It is time.”

Mrs. Trump’s “peace letter” was written in advance of her husband’s historic summit with Putin in Anchorage, Alaska, on Friday. The high-stakes meeting marked the first U.S.-Russia summit since June 2021, held under former President Joe Biden, just eight months before Putin launched the invasion of Ukraine.

Although Trump and Putin had not met face-to-face in years before Friday’s summit, the two leaders have spoken by phone multiple times this year to discuss ending Russia’s war in Ukraine.

After the summit, President Trump told reporters that while things appeared to go fairly well, “we’re not there yet” in terms of a peace deal.

“There were many, many points that we agreed on, most of them, I would say,” Trump told the press following the meeting. “A couple of big ones that we haven’t quite gotten there, but we’ve made some headway. So, there’s no deal until there’s a deal.”

That said, Trump will receive Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Monday for further negotiations.

Putin made a rare public switch to English on Friday to invite Trump to Moscow for the next round of peace talks, following their high-profile summit in Alaska.

The summit closed on a symbolic note when Putin, speaking in English, told Trump: “Next time in Moscow.”

“That’s an interesting one,” Trump replied with a smile. “I’ll get a little heat for that one. But I can see it possibly happening.”

Putin praised the discussions as “constructive” and thanked Trump for what he called a “friendly” and “results-oriented” approach. He suggested the talks could “start us on the path towards a resolution in Ukraine” and repeated his claim that there would have been no war if Trump had been president when the conflict began.

Neither leader provided details of any breakthrough, and they did not take questions from the press before departing.

The summit was followed by a transatlantic conference call that included Trump, Zelenskyy, and several European leaders.
