The student who was debating with Charlie Kirk just before the conservative activist was shot and killed at Utah Valley University has spoken out about the tragedy and labeled the “sick f*cking psychos” who were celebrating the murder.
During a school event, Hunter Kozak, a math student at the college who has his own YouTube channel, asked Kirk about transgender mass shooters. A gunshot rang out as Kirk answered, hitting him in the neck and killing him.
Kozak later discussed the event on social media and the reaction he was witnessing online in a video posted to X late Thursday.
“First off, you sick f*cking psychos that think this is the answer, I don’t know what else to say. It’s f*cking not. It’s awful and a father doesn’t have his kids anymore,” Kozak began.
He continued: “Charlie had two kids and a wife. And, like, not to make this about me, but I have two kids and a wife and if my 1-year-old boy, like his 1-year-old will grow up without memories of his dad, it’s a tragedy and it’s hard to grapple with.”
He added: “And I’m part of a community that’s struggling to grapple with it right now.”
Speaking about the debate he was having with Kirk at the time, Kozak said “the point” he “was trying to make is how peaceful the left was, right before he got shot.”
“That only makes sense if we stay peaceful,” he continued.
“As much as I disagree with Charlie Kirk, I’m on the record for how much I disagree with Charlie Kirk, but like, man, dude, he is still a human being. Have we forgotten that? Are we crazy? Like, I stand by so little of everything that he said, but one of the things that he stood by was conversation,” he asked.
Calling out any members of his own audience who he might find to be “salivating” over the murder, he warned them they were not welcome in the community he was “trying to build.”

FBI Director Kash Patel said Friday that authorities received more than 11,000 tips from a range of sources to identify the suspect alleged to have shot and killed conservative influencer Charlie Kirk.
Patel, along with Utah Republican Gov. Spencer Cox, also revealed further details about the investigation that eventually led to Robinson’s arrest. That included some involvement from a family member who may have contacted authorities after learning about the incident.
Officials also revealed that Robinson was speaking to his roommate in a Discord chat about figuring out how to go back to the scene and retrieve the gun he left behind.
The governor said that Robinson was seen in surveillance video arriving on the campus in a gray Dodge Challenger. He also revealed that Robinson’s father, having seen the FBI’s released surveillance photos, collaborated with a family pastor to encourage his son’s surrender.
Also, authorities revealed that the suspect was communicating with an as yet unidentified party over the Discord platform discussing details about the suspected Mauser 30.06 caliber rifle believed to be the murder weapon.

Robinson was reportedly turned in by his father.

Family members reported that Robinson had become “more political” in the past couple of years, and that there had been a discussion specifically about Kirk coming to the Utah campus at a recent family gathering.
Patel indicated that Robinson viewed Kirk in a negative light. Also, Patel and Cox revealed that there were writings on the bullet casings that included these messages: “Hey Fascist! Catch!,” “Bella Ciao,” and “If you read this, you are gay lmao.”
