Nancy Pelosi joined labor union leaders to back Proposition 50, aligning her campaign with nationwide ‘No Kings’ protests against Donald Trump

SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA: Rep Nancy Pelosi, the Speaker Emerita of the House of Representatives, made headlines again after sharing a 5-second video on her X account (formerly known as Twitter) showing herself breaking a fake crown during the “No Kings” protest.

The clip, posted on Sunday, October 19, shows Pelosi attending a get-out-the-vote event in support of California Proposition 50. However, half of social media is not happy about it.

This isn’t the first time Pelosi has made a bold visual statement. When she was Speaker of the House, she tore up a copy of President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address in 2020, shortly after he concluded his remarks in the House chamber.

Nancy Pelosi joins ‘No Kings’ protest by breaking a fake crown

Nancy Pelosi attended an event with labor union leaders on Saturday to show her strong public support for Proposition 50. Her get-out-the-vote effort for Proposition 50 coincided with the nationwide “No Kings” protests against President Trump’s policies.

During the event, Pelosi was seen breaking a crown, symbolically joining the ‘No Kings’ protest. In her X post, she said, “We’re gonna tear up the crown.” The video of the moment quickly went viral, reaching 1.4 million views. She captioned it, “No Crown, No Kings.”

During the same event, Pelosi spoke with The Examiner. When asked about No Kings Day and Trump’s decision to send National Guard troops to manage San Francisco, she responded, “Health care, Medicare, Medicaid, that is what is essential to America’s working families. He’s a notion monger. He throws out notions. He doesn’t even really understand what they are.”

Online backlash erupts after Nancy Pelosi snaps fake crown

Nancy Pelosi’s gesture was widely mocked and not well-received on social media. “Nancy Pelosi posts a video of her snapping a crown in half to protest Donald Trump. Democrats are BEYOND Pathetic at this point,” one user shared.
