MSNBC Host Jen Psaki’s New Show Crashes And Burns In Ratings Disaster

Posted on May 10, 2025 By Star No Comments on MSNBC Host Jen Psaki’s New Show Crashes And Burns In Ratings Disaster

It appears that even Democrats are getting exhausted with the drumbeat of propaganda coming from their own talking heads.

A new show from former Biden White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki on MSNBC bombed spectacularly, Fox News reported.

Rachel Maddow, the most popular host on the struggling network, has gone back to only airing her show on Monday nights, which left the coveted 9 PM Eastern time slot available Tuesday through Friday.

Psaki was chosen to fill that role and hit a homerun on her first night as she garnered 1.2 million viewers, with 139,000 in the adults aged 25-54 demographic, which is most coveted by advertisers.

But night two was a disaster with her show ratings crashing to just over one million viewers and a mere 65,000 in the adults aged 25-54 demographic. Last week, Maddow brought in 1.9 million viewers with 141,000 in the key demographic.

Psaki shed 46 percent of the total viewers and 54 percent in the key demographic from what Maddow had done.

Every show on Fox News beat Psaki in the ratings, as did 13 shows on CNN, with the former Biden flak sitting in a prime spot for nightly cable news at 9 PM EDT.

Her show was even outpaced in total views by basic cable reruns of “Friends,” “Seinfeld,” “Everybody Loves Raymond,” “Bob’s Burgers,” “The King of Queens,” “That 70s Show,” “Paw Patrol,” “Reba” and “My Strange Addiction,” Fox News noted.

It was the lowest-rated 9 p.m. show for MSNBC among the key demographic for a Wednesday since Alex Wagner scored just 40,000 in the demo on Dec. 11, 2024.

In March, MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace faced backlash after wishing 13-year-old DJ Daniel – whom President Donald Trump made an honorary Secret Service agent during his joint congressional speech – a “long life” as a police officer while adding that she hoped he would never have to confront a January 6-style insurrection.

The controversy reignited scrutiny of her ratings, which have remained at rock bottom since President Donald Trump’s victory last November, a report said.

Wallace, who hosts Deadline on weekdays from 4 to 6 p.m. EST, was sharply criticized by Trump and his allies for what they saw as a backhanded compliment that also served as a veiled jab at the president. Daniel, a guest at Trump’s congressional address, has been battling brain cancer for seven years and was honored by Trump as an honorary U.S. Secret Service agent during his speech.

“I hope he has a long life as a law enforcement officer. But I hope he never has to defend the U.S. Capitol against Donald Trump’s supporters. And if he does, I hope he isn’t one of the six who loses his life to suicide. And I hope he isn’t one who has to testify against the ones who carried out acts of seditious conspiracy and lived to see Donald Trump pardon those people,” Wallace told network colleague Rachel Maddow night following the president’s remarks.

That may be the most attention she’s gotten in months.

Wallace’s show, Deadline: White House, averaged 1.6 million viewers from early 2024 through Election Day but experienced a sharp 35% decline following President Trump’s victory. Throughout November and December, the program drew roughly one million viewers per day as much of its liberal audience disengaged—a broader trend that has impacted MSNBC’s entire lineup.

Key segments of the Deadline: White House audience may never return, Fox News reports. Among viewers aged 25-54, Wallace’s daily audience has dropped to 93,000, down from 144,000 before Election Day—a decline that signals to advertisers that she is no longer a prime draw for consumers.

Embarrassingly, Wallace trails non-news programs in the key demo, including “Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives” on the Food Network and BET’s “Tyler Perry’s Sistas.”
