Popular Conservative Blogger Jeff Dunetz Dies

Posted on July 28, 2025 By Star No Comments on Popular Conservative Blogger Jeff Dunetz Dies

Jeff Dunetz, a conservative commentator, blogger, Israeli historian, and former Breitbart News contributor, died quietly.

Dunetz died after enduring a variety of medical concerns over the previous year. He was 67 years old. Breitbart News described Jeff, a lifelong New Yorker, was a guy of excellent humor and a stable temperament, and even during his final illnesses and health scares, he remained cheery and ready with a joke or two, even at his own cost.

Jeff graduated from Oceanside High School in Oceanside, New York, and studied political science and government at the State University of New York at Oswego before earning a BA in political science at the University of Albany and an MBA in management at Hofstra University.

Jeff spent much of his professional life in magazine marketing and advertising, working for businesses including Disney Publishing, Nickelodeon, Discover Magazine, MTV, and Marvel Comics.

But it was writing and commenting on current affairs where Jeff discovered his true love. Dunetz was a pioneering blogger and commentator when the world of center-right blogging exploded in the early 2010s. By 2013, he had publicly established the LidBlog to provide news and commentary on US and Israeli politics and history. Jeff became one of the most prominent self-made bloggers, appearing on TV, radio, podcasts, and the Internet throughout the media.

Dunetz leaves a legacy of writings and commentary on Israeli history and American politics, as well as tales and knowledge that are still useful to us all today.

Along with his LidBlog, the tireless writer’s work has featured in The Jewish Press and Aish.com. The Jewish Star, Breitbart News, MRCTV.org, the Daily Caller, PJM, the Washington Times, Hot Air, and many others.

He also presented the Lid Radio Show, which aired on the SHR and High Plains Talk Radio networks.

Joel Pollak of Breitbart News recognized Dunetz as an early leader in the center-right blogosphere.

“Jeff was a warrior in the early days of conservative new media. I would see him every year in the press gallery at CPAC, working up a passionate rant about whatever the issue of the day was. He was a devoted friend and ally to all who care about America, liberty, and Israel,” Pollak said.

He leaves behind his wife, Lois, his son, Perry, and his daughter, Alexa. He also leaves behind his first and only grandchild, Benjamin.

His many fans and followers will mourn Dunetz, and everyone will miss his prescient perspective.

“I pray God cupped Jeff is His loving hands, carryimg him swiftly to rest in His Kingdom with those of his family who passed before him where Jeff now waits for those to follow. May God console his family and friends who remain here on earth, in knowing he has fought the good fight, that he finished the race, he kept the faith and has now received his promised rewards,” Breitbart’s “Dusty” wrote.

“From those of us as SHR Media, our thoughts and prayers are with Jeff’s Family. We adored him and were thankful for his presence on our little network. His loss is immense to our community and more so to his family, whom he loved to no end. He was one of the truly original ‘Bloggers’, whose quick wit and brilliance was unmatched. We shall miss you sir, it was an honor to share the air with you,” Breitbart’s Shaun wrote.

“Praying for his family and friends. Rest In Peace and thank you for helping Breitbart become an early success. Hate to lose your voice and thank you for doing your part to save our country,” another Breitbart News contributor wrote about Jeff Dunetz while speaking about his long-lasting career in conservative media.
